Clergy for Tolerance would like to invite clergy members from around Tennessee to a special breakfast event on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The keynote speaker will be United Methodist Bishop William Willimon, head of the North Alabama Conference and leader in the faith community's opposition and response to Alabama's immigration law.
Bishop Willimon will address the importance of clergy involvement in preventing similar legislation from passing in Tennessee and provide examples of the challenges for faith communities in Alabama under this new law. HB 56 went into effect on September 29, 2011 and widely is considered the toughest-in-the-nation legislation on undocumented workers.
We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed.
